About the service The service is widely deployed throughout the UK and Europe with over 2 million users across 5,000 organisations benefiting from email protection. In independent testing by West Coast Labs (Feb 2006), the service had the highest spam identification rate of any service tested and zero false positives. How the service works The service is hosted at the Internet level and requires no software or hardware to be installed, configured or maintained. Management is via a web interface offering comprehensive control, monitoring and reporting. As the service filters SMTP email, it is fully compatible with all email systems including Exchange, GroupWise and Notes. Implementation is by changing the MX records for the domain name(s) to be filtered to route email via the service. Emails are then scanned in accordance to your defined email policy and then delivered to your email servers (average latency of 0.75 of a second). Unwanted emails are removed allowing only the legitimate emails through to the customer. Emails that enter the managed email filtering service are scanned in a logical manner in accordance with the policy for the customer. This policy can be modified by customers' administrators.
